TruFriend is now open in Dubai: real friendships, one good introduction at a time

TruFriend.ai is now open in Dubai by invitation. What it is, how it works, and how to get your invite as a founding member.

Today TruFriend.ai opens in Dubai. It is a friendship platform for grown-ups who want to meet people they genuinely get along with, and turn those introductions into real plans. We are starting small and by invitation, so every founding member gets a thoughtful experience from day one.

Update, 12/10/2026: now in three cities

Since this post went up, TruFriend has opened in two more cities: Riyadh on 30/9/2026 and Kuwait City on 10/10/2026. Each city has its own circles, its own blog and its own members, and you always meet people in the city you live in. Members can now also confirm their identity with a quick ID check, which adds a verified mark to their profile. See the open cities.

Why we built TruFriend

Dubai is one of the most international cities in the world, and almost everyone here moved from somewhere else. That makes it exciting, and it can also make it lonely. Colleagues change jobs, friends relocate, and busy weeks leave little time to meet anyone new. Most apps built for meeting people are designed for dating or for endless scrolling. We wanted something calmer, safer and focused on one thing: friendship.

How it works

  1. Get to know Tru. Tru, our AI assistant, asks what you enjoy, when you are usually free and how far you are happy to travel. You can chat or fill in a short form, and you review everything before it is used.
  2. Meet a few good fits. Instead of an endless feed, you get a small number of introductions, each checked by a member of our team, with the reasons you might get along.
  3. Both say yes, then chat. A conversation only opens when you both want to connect. If either of you passes, nobody is told who declined.
  4. Make a real plan. Suggest a day, a time and a public place, add it to your calendar, and go. Afterwards, a few private questions help Tru suggest better people.

Circles and group plans

Circles are small groups around a shared interest: coffee, walks and runs, padel, food, books, board games, art, photography, language exchange and more, plus a circle for people who are new in Dubai. Each week, every circle gets a quick question to answer. Members can start small group plans, such as a Saturday walk or a board-game evening, and anyone in the circle can join until it is full. Built for safety and privacy

  • Friendship only, for grown-ups aged 18 and over.
  • Every plan happens in a public place, and our meetup guidelines apply to all of them.
  • Report or block anyone in one tap. A real person reviews every report.
  • Tru never asks about religion, background, health, politics or money.
  • No swiping, no follower counts and no public ratings.

How to join

TruFriend is open in Dubai, Riyadh and Kuwait City by invitation, and free for founding members. If a member has sent you an invite, use their link to join. If not, request an invite and we will email you a personal invitation within a day. When you join, you add a clear photo of yourself: every account is checked so everyone here is a real person. Please don't use Sign in until your invite arrives: it only works once you have an account.

Every Thursday, members get Tru Thursday, a short email with their introductions, the plans in their circles and the week's question. We can't wait to see the friendships that start here.
