Community rules
Last updated 16/9/2026
TruFriend works because people treat each other well. By joining, every member agrees to these rules.
1. Friendship only
TruFriend is for friendships and shared activities. Don’t use it for dating, romance or sexual contact, and don’t send flirtatious or sexual messages or images.
2. Be real
Use your own first name, your real age and a real, recent photo of yourself only: no avatars, drawings or AI images. Your account becomes active once your photo is approved. One account per person. Members must be 18 or older. New photos are checked before other members see them.
3. Be respectful
No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or insults, including about anyone’s religion, nationality, ethnicity, gender or background. If someone isn’t interested, accept it and move on.
4. No selling, scams or recruiting
Don’t advertise, sell, ask for money, promote investments or crypto, recruit for jobs or schemes, or collect people’s details for any business.
5. Respect privacy
Don’t share someone else’s messages, photos or personal details without their permission, and don’t try to find out where someone lives or works.
6. Meet safely and keep your word
Suggest public places, keep plans alcohol-free, ask before taking anyone’s photo, arrive when you said you would, and let people know if your plans change. If you can’t make a group plan, leave it so someone else can join. See our meetup guidelines.
7. Follow the law
Follow the laws of the UAE, including those on respectful conduct, privacy and online communication. Don’t share illegal content.
What happens if rules are broken
Members can report anyone they’ve been introduced to. A person on our team reviews every report. Depending on what happened, we may dismiss it, send a warning, remove a photo, or suspend the account. Serious cases, such as threats, fraud or anyone under 18, lead to immediate suspension and may be reported to the authorities.
