Language exchange: practise a language with a friend in Kuwait
Kuwait brings together people from across the Arab world and beyond, which makes it a wonderful place to learn a language. In a language exchange, two people help each other: half the time in one language, half in the other.
Where people do this in Kuwait City
- Quiet cafés where you can talk without shouting.
- Public libraries and cultural centres with study areas.
- Souqs such as Souq Al Mubarakiya for practising everyday words.
How to find your people
- Split the time evenly between both languages.
- Bring a topic or a short article to talk about.
- Correct each other kindly, and only when asked.
First plans for two
- A one-hour coffee exchange after work
- A library session with a short reading
- A market visit practising everyday words

How the Language exchange circle works
Members of this circle start plans that anyone in the circle can join, like a game, a walk or a coffee, and answer one quick question a week. Plans are always in public places and arranged by members. Friendship only, for grown-ups 18 and over.
